Travel on ILR HP

Hi everyone.

I have a question about travel to home country when holding a ILR on Humanitarian protection.

I want to know if its possible for me to apply to home office for permission in exceptional circumstances ?
where can I apply ?
Aslo I have been holding my National Passport all along ,traveled many times ,Had ILR with submission of it aswel.

I am never asked at the airport if I ever traveled to my home country considering using National Passport.

normally questions were , " are you still residing here?" " how long you were away for ,3 times?"
when i had an ILR i had to renew my passport because last one got damaged , i traveled back and I was asked "how I had the ILR?" I said HP, and thats it, stamped .

explaining all this so all can make a better picture of my situation but I will still ask permission with my explanation ,if anyone can guide me for it .
