Non EU Family member travelling to Schengan area

Post by chausanz » Wed Jul 26, 2017 1:29 pm

Hi,

I am a spouse of a Spanish national living in the UK for the past 7 years. I hold an Indian Passport. I recently applied and got a Permanent residence card. However I was told that I cannot travel to a Schengen country without a visa so I applied for a French Visa as we will be travelling to Paris. The French embassy has given me a 3 year multi entry visa with a remark " Family member of EU national". Does this mean I can travel only with my husband to a Schengen state? Can I travel alone for work with this visa or should I now get another visa for travelling by myself. Any help on this will be much appreciated.

You can travel alone on it but you cannot work on it if you are travelling without the qualified person.
