One of the documents required seems to be "Passports at time of conception", however the mother's passport at the time was lost and a new one was not gotten till around 2 months after conception, would it be ok to submit this passport? We are both living in China, would it better to apply for our son's British passport in China or the Philippines?
Thanks.

I sense it was probably abroad but it does make a difference so better to be clear.
Oops missed that. It didn't register as I read the body.vinny wrote:See also topic's title.noajthan wrote:Was child born in UK or abroad?

2012, he was born in the Philippines.vinny wrote:What was your son's date of birth?
Are you named as the father on his birth certificate?
Tricky one for the future this too, Filipinos aren't allowed to divorce I believe, so if immigration to UK is planned - going to be somewhat difficult.Stanislav wrote:2012, he was born in the Philippines.vinny wrote:What was your son's date of birth?

Yes to your second question.
Would it complicate matters if the mother had been separated from a previous husband?
The complete birth date in 2012 is important for unmarried fathers.Stanislav wrote:2012, he was born in the Philippines.vinny wrote:What was your son's date of birth?

No insensitivity intended. In PH there are varying degrees of husband.Stanislav wrote:...

Fifty shades of grey...errr, husband?noajthan wrote:In PH there are varying degrees of husband.
You are going to have to translate that. Apart from Noajthan, most people on these forums are not au fait with Filipino legal terminology.Stanislav wrote:is a CENOMAR a requirement for a child's passport?
A CENOMAR, issued by the NSO, is an official Philippine document certifying whether or not the holder is unmarriedStanislav wrote:Vinny, I have of course the complete birth date but I don't deem it necessary to reveal on here. As long as it was after 2006 it doesn't matter.
Noajthan I'm not sure if they were legally married but they have been separated since 2005 and we have been together since 2007.
My question is, is a CENOMAR a requirement for a child's passport?
Sorry, you are absolutely right. I misremembered.Stanislav wrote:Vinny, I have of course the complete birth date but I don't deem it necessary to reveal on here. As long as it was after 2006 it doesn't matter.

What happened to your passport application? Did you manage to go through it? Does your child have a BP now? Is he a citizen now?
Would be really grateful for your response. Thank you.
