Hi all I have just be granted an extension on my visa which was based on paragraph 276ade( 1). I renewed at Croydon premium centre. It was initially granted in 2015 as I was over 18 and under 24 and had lived more than half my life in the UK.
I've read on the forum alot about those renewing under family life partner and parents, but not much about those of us applying under private life.
So here goes my two cent.
Fill the application form as neccesary.
Make copies of all your documents including passport and BRP. Ensure that copies and originals are separate, and placed in the same order. You only need evidence of residence for the past 2.5 Years.

As you can see you don't need much, you just need to prove that you have an established private life in the UK.
Extras: I went on holiday to my country of birth twice, 2 weeks each time, I thought that would effect my application, but it didn't. What they want to know is that you have a private life in the UK. So prove that as much as possible.
Our type of visa seems the hardest to get initially, but in my opinion its the easiest to keep , all you need to do is prove that you are based in the UK permanently, are of good character, finacially stable and contributing to the economy (paying tax) and so on. The condition is not attached to anyone else. Which is a plus.
Good luck to everyone.
