Spouse Visa: Email name does not match legal name

Post by Heaven368 » Mon Aug 21, 2017 9:12 pm

Hi

I'm sponsoring my wife for her spouse visa. She is from Hong Kong. I was collecting our emails and Facebook chats together as evidence of our genuine relationship but the name she uses for her gmail and Facebook does not match her true name on her passport and birth certificate. She has a Chinese name but has always introduced herself with her English name when in the uk.

Even when you change her account name on gmail, the old emails still show up her English name. What can I do?

Thanks

If you are married, why don't you just submit your marriage certificate or any other official marriage documentation with authorised English translation. I don't think you will not need anything else to prove your relationship is genuine. That is how I got dependent visa for my spouse.

Thanks for the advice. I read that most people submit their Facebook, WhatsApp logs and emails to supplement the evidence for genuine relationship?

Yes you are required to submit evidence of 'subsisting relationship' with screen shots of contact medium.

The email address is not an issue. How many people have email addresses that exactly match their passports??

Spouse visa: Do I apply as Category A or Category B?

Post by Heaven368 » Wed Aug 23, 2017 10:52 am

Hi, I am the sponsor. I work as a hospital doctor.
My annual salary has been above £30K for the last 2 years. My contract finished in July 31st. I was then promoted to a more senior post with the same employer, starting the beginning of September. Therefore, I do not receive any basic salary for August.

However I will receive an August payslip because even though it does not have any basic salary, I will be receiving my July's locum/overtime pay in August this month, which is above gross £5000.

I have 12 months of payslips and an employers letter dated 16th August stating my annual salary from September 2017 to August 2018.

Is it correct to apply as Category B?

Many thanks

Category A or Category B

Post by Heaven368 » Wed Aug 23, 2017 11:04 pm

Hi,

For spouse visa appendix 2 financial requirement section (sponsor), please tell me which category, A or B, I best fit in.

I've read the guidance that Category B is also for people who are with the same employer for 6 months or more but with variable income. I thought this best describes my situation.

I work as a hospital doctor.
I started working with the hospital since 2014
I progress through different grades each year.
The beginning of this August, I finished my post as a senior houseman.

I was due to start a more senior post straight after in August but as I was getting married, I decided to start the post this September (delay it by 4 weeks)

My payslips for the last 12 months calculate to over £70,000 (£45000 basic and the rest overtime on hourly rate). However my last payslip with my basic salary will be July. As a result, my August payslip will not have any basic salary on it. However it will have £5000 of non-salary income (overtime hourly rate) which is from the work I've done in July. (My ovetime income are normally paid the following month)

My new job title starts this September but still with the same hospital/employer. So am I safer to apply as Category B then explain all this in the additional info box?

Also with this job, it's normally classed as a fixed contract, so is this temporary rather than permanent contract (there's no option for fixed term)?

Hope this makes sense and I hope I've posed this in the right thread.

5£/!& you
