Non EEA After Divorce

Post by gus » Wed Aug 23, 2017 3:43 pm

Hello,

I have been married to a EEA citizen and living in the UK since 2007. Unfortunately we had been through a divorce and no longer talk to each other. The decree absolute has just been issued.

I have a residence card that expires in 2020. What visa shall I apply now? Or shall I leave the country?

If there is a way to stay, what documents would I need?

Many thanks

You'd need to apply for retained rights of residence. You do not need to leave the country as your RC is still valid.
