Anyone in similar situation?

1. Got HSMP approval letter 27 Nov 2007
2. Went travelling and arrived back 26 Feb 2008
3. Just been informed I am no longer allowed to apply/switch from working holidaymaker visa for leave to remain/entry clearance from within the UK. This is despite the fact i have HSMP approval.

I now must return home to get a stamp. Expensive stamp as I have to return to NZ!

Anyone know of others in a similar situation, any ideas? Most appreciated...thanks
