Masters Tier 4 to Doctorate Tier 4 application

hi All,

I have completed my Masters degree and have Tier 4 validity until 05/09/2017. As i'm planning to do DBA (Doctorate in Business Admin) course, I would like to apply for tier 4 within the UK. Im awaiting for the CAS letter from the university at the moment. Is there anyway I can extend my stay in the UK beyond 05/09/2017 along with my wife even if the issue of CAS is delayed? FYI, the course start date is 01/10/2017.

Also, even if i go to India and apply from there, how different it will be to applying for the same Tier 4 visa? will there be any difficulties?

No. I advise you speak to someone senior at the university to make sure your CAS is issued on or before 5 September.

Hopefully an irrelevant question, but it would not be much different, apart from the cost and having a credibility interview.

Thanks for your reply.. Can I apply for FLR stating that am waiting for the CAS from the University. And once I had received my CAS, I shall withdraw the FLR and apply for Tier-4 as initially intended.

That would make you an overstayer and your Tier 4 sponsor is highly unlikely to agree to sponsor you for an application as an overstayer.
