FLR _ FP visa

Post by johnmw » Mon Sep 04, 2017 3:06 pm

Hello,

I have read a lot on this site, and similar questions to mine.

So I have an appointment at the premium service center on the 20th of this month.

My wife is Costa Rican and I am a British citizen.

We recently cam aback to the uk after staying in Dubai together for 18 months,

We are applying for the FLR_FP visa because I have recently taken over a new business and thus don't have 6 months salary slips, and out in Dubai they don't have normal ways of paying us so can't use that employment.

But the important thing is she stays with me, we can change over to an FLR-M at a later date, I already know that we lose the time we spent under the FLR_FP and will cost us more.

My main question is,

We only lived together for 18months, but can't prove this due to fact in Dubai you can't co-sign for an appt in Middle East or share bills unmarried....

From what I understand this is not an issue as we are NOT applying for an flr-fp visa as a non married couple?

We are married and proved our relationship previously to get a marriage visa approved, and can send in the same documentation again to prove our relationship.

Am I right in believing we are all set in regards to the requirements for married partner 10 year route FLR-FP visa?

And am I right that the 2 years of cohabitation proof is for the unmarried route?

Thanks for reading and any help will be greatly appreciated

She cannot switch to any other visa within the UK as a visitor. The rules don't allow it and you will likely be refused the FLR(FP) as you both recently arrived, she is here as a visitor and there doesn't appear to be any exceptional and compelling reason why FLR(FP) should be granted.

It really will appear to HO that you were trying to circumvent to more difficult spouse/fiance visa route. The visa she is on it only to get married in the UK and then leave. Not sure what she put in her application form.

I called uk visas and immigration and it was they who recommended this route.

we moved back here because my father is ill that was the main reason.

Thank you for your help, if you have any further advice it would be appreciated.

John
