The paper form yes. For India applicants, it is VAF4A online version.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

Many thanks for the link. Just want be careful.
Please can someone confirm the following with regards to the visa application for my husband.
Reason for visit – settlement, visa type – settlement, visa sub type – husband

Also if the application is approved how long does the visa get stamped for?
Does my husband require to provide any financial documents? Is there a financial requirement for him to meet?

Thanks,

Hi, All,
My husband has applied for a settlement visa from India. The website states that the documents must be sent to Sheffield. The vfs persons scanned the docuemnts and said that it is not required. Am confused. Please can anyone help.

Scanning of documents is a new user pay service which not many people are using. Since you have opted for it and presumably all documents were scanned, You are now legally covered that you have submitted your documents though digitally.

You don't need to send documents to Sheffield now if all documents were scanned but would only be your choice if you still would like to send documents.
