Hi guys
I've been following particular topic since yesterday. It felt frustrating while reading others situation.
Applied for Tier4 Visa on 1st August at Lahore,VAC. Got a confirmation email of receiveing online application on 8th of the following. Then on 18th, writing we could not able to process your application in certain timeframe.
Last week received a call from VAC asking me to bring all supporting documents again for rescanning Cuz UKVIC got issue from their side thus they have not received any supporting document.
I emailed my university to check wheather my CAS is still assigned or Been used. Reply was frustrating as my CAS has not been used yet.
My course start date is 25th of September. Only 13 working days are left in it.
So frustrated
I experienced the same. I had my biometric on 11th august. git mail that application recieved at decision making center on 20th August. Got another mail from ukvi saying it will take more than 15 working days. on 28th august got a call from VAC saying to come for rescanning as last scan was pathetic and ukvi is unable to view your docs. I had rescanning same day. Checked CAS status on 8th August and it has been changed from Assigned to USED
how do you check the CAS status?

In my university online portal I can view my CAS statement. In the statement there is a status option which was previously shown as "Assigned" but on 8th September it changed to "Used". If you cant find CAS status in your university online portal better email your uni visa and immigration department. They can tell u the status. My course start date is 11th September

Guys Was this scanning issue specific to one VAC ? Bcuz I'm waiting for 8 weeks now but they said its peak time that's why it's taking long , they never mentioned scanning issue
Hang on you will get visa. I had re-scanning issue too. I applied visa from Islamabad Pakistan. VAC blamed that UKVI is having issue in IT system but when I mailed UKVI they said your previous scanned docs were not clearly visible

Ask your University the following:
Log on to their SMS and check the CAS status, and when the CAS has been changed to Used (if applicable).
It's not an exact science as I frequently see CAS's at Assigned where the migrant receives the Visa.

yes we have student account on university website where we can do pre registration tasks, apply accommodation and other stuff. There we also have
online CAS statement.

No and yes. My suggestion is do whatever you can. Embassy, agent, university and hotline. Keep trying. They need some pressure as well

Hello there. I have been a silent observer of this thread for quite some time now.
Biometrics: 17th July in Sri Lanka
Confirmation email: 27th July
After this I've received no response whatsoever. I have tried contacting the international enquiry service several times but all I receive are standard responses saying that my application is still awaiting a decision and that it has been escalated. My uni contacted UKVI last week and got the following response:
Thank you for your query about the progress of the Entry Clearance application for the above named applicant.
I have passed the details to an Entry Clearance Officer (ECO) today. I have made the ECO aware of the relevant course start date and asked them to make a decision as a priority.
However I do not believe they are still putting enough efforts to deliver our visas before course start date. I don't know what more could be done to get my visa on time. My course starts on 20th September and my govt scholarship will expire this year.

Think VFS colombo is one of the worst, if not the worst. They've been consistent with their delays, but I heard quite a few people received their visas and passports back towards the end of last week. So let's hope for the best this week.

@mugatiya26 Yes I agree. They even fail to provide a contact number. It's really sad that they are making us go through this horrible experience. I r hope we get it tomorrow or early next week. Good luck.

I really don't think that there's a fault in our application. I was told that they will contact us if there's any missing documents and if they need further information. But then again, they do not live up to their words so I don't know. I have since revisited my application and cannot find anything irregular or alarming for the home office to delay the decision on my visa. What I don't understand is why they are processing recent applications without fully dealing with their backlog. Don't the longest waiting applicants deserve an answer the most?

I cannot even begin to describe how much of an impact this whole process is having on our mental health. We have been going through this for too long. Surely light should be there at the end of the tunnel. All our placement offers from top unis show that we deserve a chance to study in the U.K. This has to stop at some point. I pray that everyone waiting for their visas, especially the longest waiting applicants get their decision soon.

I have done the same and I couldn't find a single irregularity in my application either. I agree, they should've cleared the July backlog before dealing with the August ones. This whole process has been framed by blatant lies on their part, starting with "if we can't process your application within the target processing times, you will be told why".

@mugatiya26 Is twitter effective? I have seen one British high commissioner in Kolkata respond to a visa delay query, asking them to DM the details. However I haven't seen the British high commissioner in Sri Lanka respond to any tweets about visa delays.

I tweeted him and also sent him a letter early last week. Absolutely nothing.

I applied from Muscat
Biometric on 10/08
Today I received my passport
No e mail to notify me that decision was taken
I escalated my case twice urgently
It took 20 working days non priority

You just got the email from visa application centre?
And When did you escalate your case?
