Tier 1 application

Hi guys,

I am planning to apply under the Tier 1 (General) category in April '08 from India. I have confirmed my eligibility using the points calculator on the BIA website. However I would like to know if we have to give the gross salary or net salary when claiming the points for income?

Could someone also please guide me in the application process? What are the documents required? Is it advisable to use a consultant's services or apply independently?

Tier 1 initial application forms will be release in 01 April 08. The documents required are more or less same as required for HSMP application.

You need to mention gross salary when claiming point for previous income.

Thanks a lot amit0277.

I have some more concerns/questions. My current employer had filed for my UK work permit a couple of months ago. I had also got the WP approval for that. But business plans have changed since then and I am not travelling now. Will this have any impact on the Tier 1 application that I am planning to make?

Would anybody know what is the approximate timeframe that the Tier 1 (General) approval would take?

Is there any time period restriction before we have to move to UK after getting the Tier 1 approval?
