Tier 2 General CoS - Incorrect Entry Clearance Date

Post by kensa055 » Wed Sep 27, 2017 11:41 pm

Hi Guys,

After some advice.

I came back to NZ to apply for Tier 2 CoS visa. Paid Priority and sent away on 11th September, received visa back on 23 September. On my application I stated date of intended travel being 28 September. CoS had work start date of 01 October.

When I received my passport back (23 September) I booked my flight that I had been looking at being 28 September through a third party via sky scanner. Upon closer inspection of visa I realise UKVI has given me an entry clearance date of 21 October! I have no idea where this date even came from. So I call up UKVI and they then escalate my case, I receive an email that night (25 September) telling me I need to send my visa back for entry clearance date to be amended. I suggested to them someone had messed up as i received the letter saying my visa had been successful on the 19 September so I believe the entry clearance date was meant to be 21 September. Now I have to miss my flight as I still do not have visa back and there was no point in paying priority as my partner has already received her visa back and she didn't pay priority and we applied the same day.

Am I entitled to any sort of refund from UKVI or VFS. Due to an error by UKVI even though I have received no apology or any sort of correspondence as to what was the reason for the error?
