Proof of residence on EU1 form

Post by Zineb93 » Thu Sep 28, 2017 10:49 am

Hi,

I am a non-EU citizen, I arrived to Dublin last week, joining my husband who is a EU citizen living and working in Ireland since 8 years.

At the airport, I got a 3 months stamp to register and the immigration officer also gave me a GNIB number.
So, we plan on completing and sending the EU1 form for residence card soon.

However, the form says we have to provide, if renting:

-Letter from landlord/agency or tenancy agreement;
-Letters of Registration of Tenancy from the Private Residential Tenancies Board;
-Utility bills for the applicant and the EU citizen

-> The problem is: my husband's landlord refuses to add my name on the contract. They are very strict. They say I have to provide work reference and last 3 payslips if I want my name to be on the lease contract (which obviously I cannot provide). And I can't have a letter from RTB if my name is not on the contract. However, we will be able to provide a utility bill in both our names. But, I don't know if it is enough to proove my residence.

Does anybody experienced this while completing the EU1 form? Is a letter from Landlord on my husband's name only would be enough? Is there another way?

Thank you.

I have had a good bit of experience with that.
Simply get your husband to write a letter that you are living with him and he can sign that letter. That should be enough. You can provide his lease contract and PRTB (in his name).
Getting a letter from the landlord is also a good idea (as you mentioned).
