fees for Uk citizenship application

Post by loiclm » Sun Oct 01, 2017 3:11 pm

Hello,

I am applying for british citizenship. As far as I understand, I need to add the "NationalityFeesLeaflet_2017" document to the "Form_AN" to give bank details for the payment of the fee. Looking at it and reading the booklet and guide, I am not sure though how much I should ask to be debited from my account :

This is what I see :

ADULTS APPLYING FOR BRITISH CITIZENSHIP
AN
Naturalisation £1282

B(OS)
B(OTA) RS1
S1 S2 S3 T
EM
Registration £1163

UKM, UKF
Section 4C, 4G, 4H, 4I registration (ceremony fee only) £80

So what should I pay ? 1282+1163+80=2525£ total of it
Or 1282+1163=2445£ as some people in forums say ceremony fees already included in Naturalisation fees
Or 1282+80 (Registration something different)
Or 1282 only (Registration sth different and ceremony fees already included)

I am a bit lost at the moment.

Thanks,
Loic

Assuming you are applying on form AN after 5 years residence and holding PR/ILR for 12 months, it is the one quoted below as it says 'AN'!
ADULTS APPLYING FOR BRITISH CITIZENSHIP
AN
Naturalisation £1282

so just to make sure this is 1282£ in total I should ask to be debited and the 80£ for ceremony are already included in it ?

Thanks

The ceremony fee is already included. You only pay £1282.

Form AN citizenship completion

Post by loiclm » Sun Oct 01, 2017 9:33 pm

Hello,

I have various questions as I tried to fill in the form AN for british citizenship application :

1) My exact name is Loïc with 2 points on the i. It is shown this way on my french passport. Since I have been living in the UK, I have always used Loic without the 2 points on the i. Also, on all official documents like HMRC self assessment, Permanent Residency, life in the UK test I used capital letter for both first name and surname so never had the chance to point out that difference (apart from back of photo that need to be provided). Should I add to my application a letter explaning this ? I don't want it to cause any problem on the future as it would be different from my foreign passport...

2) Regarding the referee, it is a problem if the british citizen being my referee is living abroad ? I found nowhere it being an issue but just would like to be sure of it.

3) maybe silly question.. page 19/30 of the form AN, it is asked to provide a photo, put name and date on the back then glue it on the form. That looks strange to me to write something on the back then glue it. I guess I should use a glue not that strong so they can still read after unsticking it ?

4) at the end of the form AN page 27/30, they ask for "special circumstances" where I think I fail to meet some requirements. I have actually been out of the UK 95days in the last year so more than 90days normally accepted but as I read in the booklet, it is "normally disregarded" when < 100days. Reason is I actually just moved to another job this year so spent many more days abroad than the other previous 7 years. In the booklet, they advised to justify it telling that I am commited to stay in the UK. Should I provide a letter showing a bought a home here and plan to stay and give job contracts to show I indeed changed job this year and this was unusual ?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Loic

It won't cause a prolem. Your British certificate and passport will be printed without the 2 dots anyway.
2) Regarding the referee, it is a problem if the british citizen being my referee is living abroad ? I found nowhere it being an issue but just would like to be sure of it.
Should be fine.

It is so that if the photo is misplaced they are able to match it to the correct application.

Point 7.7 and the block are not relevant to your circumstances you describe.

thanks for 1, 2 and 3)

4) fine I don't write it here then. Should I still write a letter to explain why I was out 95days and do you think it is a problem (don't know how to interpret the booklet saying it is "normally disregarded" below 100days)

No it is not necessary and not an issue. You are overthinking it.
