HSMP with current employer

Hi All,
I have got my EC stamped for 2 years, now my employer would like to send me to UK. I have few queries.
1) Can I travel to UK with HSMP visa and work with my current employer in UK.
2) Can I apply for work permit.
3) Apart from Salary is there any other disadvantage of the above?

1) Yes
2) Yes you can, but remember your HSMP visa will be superceeded by the WP.
3) I can't see any
