What is your relation to the 'relative'?

How old is the child?

Why are you adopting the child?

1. As you are a UK resident, you have to follow the UK adoption processes. See adopting-a-child-from-overseas (click(.

3. HO view these types of 'family' adoptions poorly and getting a visa is going to be challenging. See see Point 18. SET7.18 (click)

Thanks a lot for your reply.
I am an Indian resident and i have no plans to settle here.So i assume the UK adoption process is not applicable in my case.
Its a ICT Tier 2 VISA which is a non-settlement VISA.Just want to know if anyone has faced a similar situation so that it would help me in knowing the process i need to follow.

Thanks.

You are an Indian national but you are resident in the UK. If your aim is to bring the child, you should follow the UK adoption process. This still does not guarantee you will be successful in getting a visa after adopting a family members child, as my second links already says.

Suggest arrange the adoption then once you return to India.
