Alhamdullilah, my wife's visa has been granted on a 5 year route. Check the Pakistan Timelines thread for my full timeline. Basically it was 60 days from biometrics. I applied non-priority.

I'm so happy. Can't wait for her to get here. Don't lose hope!!!

*** Good news finally after waiting over 6 months.***
My Wife collected the visa today from New Delhi.
Time Line
Settlement visa (Priority) online application: 10/03/2017
Biometrics submitted at VFS New Delhi: 15/03/2017
Supporting documents received at Sheffield : 21/03/2017
UKVI contacted me and my employer : 08/05/17
" ON HOLD" AND " NOT STRAIGHT FORWARD " emails : 15/05/2017
Email received to collect passport : 03/10/17
Passport and Visa Collected from New Delhi : 06/10/17

In between all this I have called the paid service, my Lawyer sent few letters and our MP sent 3 Letters
explaining the Home Office that my Case is Straight forward but as we know they give silly answers like its still under process and we will make the decision soon .
As on Today the online tracker still shows " Awaiting Decision" when we have visa in out hand so dont rely on that service as well..

Finally I would like to say good luck to you all and dont lose hope and feel disappointed , sooner or later those who are genuine will definitely get the visa..

We are stuck not knowing what is happening my husband had his approval recently and has a few weeks left to travel and collect brp, problem is they didn't process our children 5yrs and 8yrs so they can't travel. The whole thing is a mess and I am told we have to go thru the escalation again and wait 20 business days before contacting again. I am distraught as we won't have a house by 26th October as my husband needs to go and we have given notice here. How can they do this to a family and leave two little girls in limbo

I think that is standard procedure, they send out a standard template letter with the docs back, mine had it too.

I am still one of many people waiting for a decision to be made!

I dont think that status change means much, its an online form that goes to 'inactive' after a certain timeline, not sure what that time is or even if that relates to the decision being made!

I took my biometrics on22/6/2017
But my spouse send the documents to sheffield before i took biometrics.
I still havent heard anything from my visa no email no nothing.. i called ukvi after the 60 days marker and they escalted my case and told me that my status is "waiting for desicion".
Today the 15 days for escaltion were over and i called again to escalte but a different lady answered this time only to tell me that because i applied from istanbul i ll have to wait for 90 days and only after that i could escalte.
I m so confused how did i get my case escalted the first time then.
And is it because i sent the documents pre biomtrecs appointment i m getting delayed like this.
Anybody else have the samw problem or can shed some light?
Anyone??

Hi in my opinion, escalating is waste of time and money. i have escalated my case a several times, but still waiting for a decision since Jan 2017. Many members in this forum would agree.

Hi everyone,

I got this email today. Can anyone tell me what it means exactly? Is this the normal 'not straightforward' email that people get? Its 10 weeks this Friday from my biometrics date and I paid priority. Is this email a way of them trying to cover themselves of me not asking the priority fee back? I escalated the case last week and I'm assuming this email is in response to this. Does this mean I won't get a decision before 12 weeks?

Thank you for applying for a UK visa. Your visa application has been received and is under consideration. We aim to process non settlement applications within 15 working days (unless you have opted for the Priority Visa service), and settlement applications within 60 working days.

Unfortunately, the processing of your application has not been straightforward and we will be unable to decide your application within our customer service targets. We are continuing to work on your application and aim to make a decision as soon as possible.

We will write to you again if there is any change to this. Please do not attend the Visa Application Centre until you have been advised that your application has been decided and that your passport is ready for collection.

Kind Regards,

UK Decision Making Centre

dont worry it is just a regular email they send most of people after 12 weeks . so they can have bit more time to sort out application.. i would say every one should claim back priority service money after getting visa .. :) if your application is not processed within 12 weeks. cheers

This thing is, I'm not even on 10 weeks yet and they've still sent this email. Isn't that a bit weird? How long do most people get a decision after they receive this email, does anyone know?
Hi
I got this information from ukvi site. If they send an email like that they can take up to 24 weeks to process your application.and it depends on the case. It can be shorter as well.

"If we can’t make a decision within the service standards
If there is a problem with your application or if it is complex, we will write to explain why it will not be decided within the normal standard. We will write within the normal processing time for the 8 week standard and within 12 weeks for the 6 month standard. The letter will explain what will happen next." (Taken from ukvi site)

Hey, thank you for that. Have you got the link to the page?
