Notes:
- My wife lost her job whilst the application was being progressed. Home office was informed immediately and she applied for job seeker allowance immediately to ensure that she still qualifies
- I had a pending appeal from my previous application, which the Home Office asked to withdraw before they could give out their decision. The appeal was withdrawn immediately and the Home Office was informed.

Overall, I'm quite pleased. just over 3 months for the card, 4 months to get the paperwork back, and the passports were returned without any problem.

After struggling with biometrics letter for 3 months and 1 week got rest 3 steps done within 10 days .

I am non-EEA applying for PR As a Spouse of a qualified worker (Italian) my timeline is is:

Application submitted - 08/06/2017
Application received - 9/06/2017
Email confirmation with case ID received - 17/07/2017
Biometric letter received - 19/07/2017 (dated 17/07/17)
Biometric submitted - 22/07/2017
COA with Work. 24/08/17 (dated 21/08/17)
Status decided: 25/09/17
Got all my documents and the decision letter: 3/10/17 (dated 26/09/17)
BRP: waiting.

So, yesterday I was very happy! I received all my documents, passport , and the letter saying that in10 days I will get my biometric card.

Good luck everyone. Not even 4 months.

Some people mentioned earlier that they had their passports returned right away — not the case for us! Hopefully soon, otherwise we will request them as soon as the biometrics are enrolled. Now time for the waiting game!

No letter recived within 10 days so i called . they reply :Thank you for contacting UKVI Contact Centre regarding the status of your application.

"Our records show that your application has not yet been completed.

We are unable to advise when a decision will be made but you will be notified in writing once made. Until such time, we are unable to assist further. Should the caseworker require further information and/or documents they will contact you.

As the webpage states the online application status checker is a trial service and as a direct result of your feedback an error has been identified. I apologise that this appears to have happened in your case. Please feel assured that remedial action has already been taken to address this and improvements made to this service."
