Penalty Fare Notice declaration

Post by spdatta13mar » Thu Oct 12, 2017 10:57 am

Hi,

I had got a Penalty Fare notice from National Rail which I paid on the spot. I checked with their customer care and they have closed the case in their system. Also they informed they do not share this information with anyone and any 3rd parties.

Now I am filing my tier 2 application in country. There is a question on any offence including speeding fines, FPN?

options
(a) Should I say yes to the question and submit the proof of my payment receipt?
(b) Should I say no?
(c) Should I say No to the question but mention that in a separate cover letter?

Can someone please help.

If you have received any simple caution then you have to mention. But this case does not seem like that.

Yes, I got the Penalty Fare Notice from Southern Rail (Private Operator).

Is there any Link which shows that I do not have to declare. Please help.

There is no such link which talks specifically about this.

However, my personal view, it does no harm to mention it in the application. I have done it before and the application went on fine. I feel such minor FPNs are not worth taking the risk. Just dont give them a reason to reject your application.
