Switching from Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) Partner to Tier 2 (General)

Hello,

I’m currently a dependant on my husbands visa (Tier 1 Entrepreneur), my employer has offered me the opportunity to be sponsored and I’m looking to switch to the Tier 2 (General).

I have been reading conflicting information regarding applying from inside or outside the UK.

There seem to be no clear stipulation on the guidance document as well.

Can I apply to switch from inside the UK?

Can I apply to switch from inside the UK?

No you cannot switch in the UK as a Tier 1 Ent dependent. You will have to apply from your home country and your employer will have to complete the full and proper RLMT process to prove to HO that you have not been 'pre-selected' and that no settled/British or EU citizen is suitable for the job. You salary must also be a minimum of £30,000pa.
