home office sent letters to wrong adress

Post by kenzimac » Wed Oct 18, 2017 7:47 pm

Hello I applied for a FLR ( I hope I'm in the right place) on august 26 , took my biometrics on 31 and we never heard anything from the home office since, today we got a letter that my husband catch just because he saw the postman the letter says they asked for more information and we didn't provide it so my visa application will take longer. The problem is we never received any letters asking for anything, and this letter that my husband catche has the wrong address in it it says flat 2 and our house is just 2 ( its a house not a flat) so any letter they might have sent went to this flat 2, we went to the flat and no one seems to be living there. we called the number and they said just change your address the problem is they had the right address to begin with as they sent the biometrics correctly I don't know how they made the mistake with the address.
Second thing is now I have no papers to prove my identity to sent to them so they change the address.

Has anyone has this problem? I checked the status on my visa and it says Awaiting decision already.

is there a place to call ? someone to talk to what can we do?

Im worrided we might get refused because we failed to provide the extra paperwork they asked for, but we never knew about this.

Please someone HELP

No one knows anything ? Who we can call what we do? Should we just wait and get our documents lost on the post ? The visa denied because we didnt comply with the Requirements ?

Any ideas at all? Hire a lawyer ?

Looks as if they requested further info which they wrote to wrong address.
I would suggest you talk to a solicitor and don't disclose the letter you got with wrong address but ask home office for evidence of where they sent the letters.they might reconsider it

I think this is the phone we called and they said they didn’t have access to my personal information and asked to do the online form to change the address ( the form is in case you have moved which we haven’t ) and we tried but we lack evidence to prove things as documents are in the home office.

So HO sent letters to wrong address asking for more documents, we got ahold of a letter that said this and that my case now was going to be delayed as I didnt reply on time. We found no way to tell home office that they have the wrong address ( only thing we did was sent a letter to HO trying to explain, no answer or anything) nor can we contact the address where this mail is being delivered.
My status says “awaiting decision” it’s been 10 weeks since I made my application. Anyone has ever been in a similar situation? I’m in the uk applied for a 2.5 year extension FLR (M) I have no idea what extra documents they might need.

Anyone has been through something remotely similar? For what I’ve seen this could now take forever to be resolved if it’s resolved.
