ILR query

Post by abhijit19 » Fri Oct 27, 2017 11:00 am

I had a query about moving from Tier 2 General to ILR.
Say one is granted ILR, will there still be restrictions in moving companies? i.e would they still need to sponsor me if i move?
Also, what happens if i am made redundant or take up a new job with a lower salary than the 35k minimum required? Would the ILR be revoked?

No restrictions. Once you have ILR you are no longer sponsored, you are free to move/change jobs.

See #1 above.

Thanks for clarifying that.
So sponsorship and the salary requirement is only to get the visa. Once ILR is granted, both are not required any more. Phew.

Once you get ILR you are basically out of any immigration rules. You're free to do whatever you want including claiming benefits etc
