2nd biometric enrollment letter

Post by bedouleman » Fri Nov 17, 2017 11:01 am

Hi everyone

I am going through naturalisation as an EEA National, using form AN. I have enrolled my biometrics using the first letter I receive, albeit on the last day possible or possibly the next day depending how you count "15 days from this letter". Letter was dated 17/10/17 and i enrolled on the 07/11/17.

All went well at post office, bar code was accepted, I enrolled and i have a receipt and everything.

I then received a 2nd letter dated 06/11/17 giving me 10 days to enroll the biometrics on account of not receiving the biometrics yet. It looks very similar to the first one and I can't see any difference in the last page of letter (one with the bar code). In any case there is no difference in reference number, or any of my personal details. And they could not have known about my first enrollment when they sent it (I enrolled the day after), so it doesn't tell me that the first one was unsuccessful.

Question is: Considering I was apparently successful enrolling biometrics the first time round, should I enroll again ? Is the 2nd letter, as I suspect, just an exact repeat of the first one and it makes no difference which you use?

Thanks in advance for your information on that.

PS: Unfortunately there is no direct line with biometrics to check on that (essential) information and their 2nd letter makes no mention of the usual "if you have enrolled between first letter and receiving this please disregard" which would have alleviated my worries. For now I have sent an email, but their response time is 10 working days, so that will obviously not help.

I would write straight away to nationalitybiometrics@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk. If they confirm receipt of biometrics based on first letter by second letter working days deadline, I would do nothing. If I wouldn't get an answer by the deadline, I would call the 0300 123 2253 nationality enquiries phone number, even though I doubt they will give meaningful answers, possibly due to HO application tracking access clearance limitations... If no clear answer is given by that date, I would submit biometrics again, just to be on the safe side not to jeopardize the application and the significant fees paid to date...

My first biometric letter was not received 14 working days after sending it and I am waiting a second one... FYI nationalitybiometrics@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk answered to my email after 5 calendar or 3 working days.

Hi ariskar

Thanks for the information on the delay for biometrics service to reply to emails as I have already sent them an email and it's good to have an idea.

You are right about the home office help line, they couldn't confirm whether my enrolment had been received or not.

I will most likely go to the post office and check what is what just in case.

By the way ariskar what do you mean by "My first biometric letter was not received 14 working days after sending it and I am waiting a second one" ?

You passed the deadline and are waiting for the second letter to enrol your biometrics ?

I feel I should have done that then I wouldn't be asking myself this question (but I was not aware they send you a 2nd letter)

HI Guys,

Please can someone advise how many days it will take for the 2nd letter to come from the day 15 days is completed.

I think the homeoffice will send the 1st letter say on 1st of july (ie the date printed) and 15days from will finish on 15th July. I think the home office will wait till 15th August and then when they send the 2nd letter , will it start from 15th july to 25th july?
Or say if the print date on letter is 17th July will it be 10 days from then?

Is there anyway if i request that the biometric to wait for couple of weeks , will they acccept any reason at all?

I have my wife went on holiday after applying and will retrun in another sep 16th 2018. today it is 2nd july. she is also carrying and has some medical issue because of pregnancy.
please give some advise how to deal with this?

any help is much appreciated.

thansks
