Huge Mistake Tier 2 Child Dependent Visa

Post by Vinsanchez0115 » Mon Oct 23, 2017 10:40 pm

Hi,

Im Lawrence, Under tier 2 General Visa. I applied my 4mos old son for Child dependent visa online. As I recieved the Biometrip Application in the post office, I notice the main applicant is under my name. And the post office staff told me that the application is under my name not my son. Tried to email AppointException@homeoffice.gsi. gov.uk to inform and rectify the situation. But I feel really stress and I believed its my fault as Im really confuse on the section "Person you are joining" which I put my son details rather mine. My only fear is they will let me pay again. Kindly help me what to do or should I inquire a solicitor about it? Hoping to hear from you soon.

Regards,
Lawrence

You should have put your details in "Person you are joining" section instead of your son.

This is a serious mistake, if you have not enrolled your biometrics letter yet, then I would advise you to withdraw the application and reapply again. I believe the fee and IHS will be refunded for this application but I am not 100% sure and will leave this for senior members to comment on this part.

I recently applied for my son's visa in which I put my details in "Person You are Joining" section and in personal details put my son's details.

Thanks,
Hassan

Yes your son is the main applicant and you are the person they are staying with. He also is not 'joining' you as he is already in the UK. He is applying to remain with you.

What you have effectively done, is apply for a dependent visa for yourself.

Hopefully HO will not refuse outright. Suggest send a letter as soon as possible, recorded signed for delivery.

I made a same mistakes as you, How is going with your application?

I am quite worry about HO will refuse my application.

Could you share any information, please?
