Short on salary band....need urgent help!!!!!!! for Tier-1

Post by nevish » Mon Mar 31, 2008 3:05 am

Hi my name is Vishal Bhatt, I am writing this on behalf of my wife Mrs Neha Bhatt (Principal Applicant). We are on HSMP since Oct 2006 and our visa is expiring in Oct 08. My wife has been working with Ealing County Council on contract job. She has always been on contract jobs.
There are few queries I wanted to clarify.
1st Does it matter if my wife has not been working last 12 months at a stretch?
She has got gaps in last 12 months e.g. we travelled India in Dec to mid week of Jan.
2nd She is short by almost £ 4000 is there a way out to get it extended to Tier-1.
3rd What if I put my Tier-1 file (as I have dot 75 points) will the two years we spend in the UK under HSMP will be void in order to claim our ILR after 3 years.
We both are well educated and are in environmental field. Both have been doing well and progressing in our respective fields but due to the gaps in the last 12 months life is looking a bit nightmarish with the changes in the rules.
She is running short in income band , could you please guide us what we can do. I am her dependent and working as an environmental consultant in a multinational company and I can straight away put the file but just concerned if I do so will that mean that we will lose the time we spend in the UK and it will be resetting the clock for ILR.
Your suggestions and help are greatly appreciated. Please help me and put me in the right direction.
Could you please inform what are yr charges for the same.
Many Thanks,
Vishal

Hi Vishal,

Since she is the principal applicant, I guess you are on dependant visa.
You cannot provide your details as the main applicant should apply. if you want apply, i guess it will be switching of visas.

For renewal your earning power is calculated on last 12 months earnings.

(replace xx with tt)

But I feel you still have time. If you can fill the gap in the time frame from april - aug/sep, then it should be ok.

how do I fill up the gap for the short band of pay???

Post by nevish » Mon Mar 31, 2008 10:13 am

Firstly thanks for your resposne but
in just 6 months it is very difficult to get a part-time job or fill up the gap of £ 3500-4000. could you please suggest if there are other ways to get around this.

Total income earned will be £ 16500 we need to make up somehow £ 20000.

I know i have time but i want to plan it out before i get too close for the deadline and i push the panic button.
