Change surname - First passport after Naturalisation

Post by Ekaterinas2016 » Mon Dec 04, 2017 1:35 pm

While I'm awaiting invitation to the ceremony, I would like to ask a question

Can I change my surname to my husband's surname during application for the first passport?
What do regulations say about this? I obviously have marriage certificate

If I can't do this, is it possible to change the name after getting a passport? And how?
Thank you

You would need to change your foreign passport first. HMPO won't issue a passport in a different name to your foreign passport as far as I understand.

Two lengthy topics on the difficulties and refusal of passport members have experienced.

british-citizenship/passport-refused-un ... 83170.html
Char (CR001 not Casa)
