Wife and Son coming on different dates

Post by pinaki » Mon Dec 11, 2017 1:07 pm

Hello, Is it ok to apply for my wife and son (5 yrs. old) together while my wife will come in Mar 2018 and I will go to get my child in Apr 2018 - therefore have different dates for arrival in UK in their applications, however apply together and use my wife's bank statement to show proof of funds? Thanks!

Too early to apply now.

But in theory yes it should be ok. However, please note that the visa vignette they get in their passport is only valid for 30 days and they must travel to the UK within the 30 days.

Thank you for your response and this great service that you have been keeping up with.

As we will be putting two different dates for UK entry in their applications, their vignettes should have different dates as well - right?

UKVI often get the 'travel date' wrong on visa vignettes so you would need to be very clear.

Why can they not travel together?

My wife has to sit an exam in early Apr 2018, so she will be here by mid-Mar 2018 and prepare for the exam. She wan't to study those last 2/3 weeks in peace - LOL!

I plan to go back in mid/late Apr 2018, and bring my son along with my parents (they will travel as visitors).

Thanks!

If the applied for travel date is unnoticed and the vignette needs correction - will it be an easy thing to do and what will be the associated cost like?
Thanks!

Should be no extra cost if it is HO error. However, with them applying at the same time, anything is possible where UKVI is concerned.

And that's where I am concerned too!

Any suggestions - should the two applications be done separately? The only thing is that I want to use my wife's bank a/c statement to prove that we have sufficient funds. My bank a/c statement (if my son were to apply later/separately) will not show sufficient funds, as I keep investing them in various avenues.

Thanks again!

Why do you think you would not be able to use her bank statement if they apply separately??

OK, I thought if my son's application was made separately, I should be using my bank statement being the main applicant - but from your comment I understand that it is not the case.

Thank you for all your help and guidance.
