Applying for permanent residency with caveats

Post by Bendal » Mon Dec 11, 2017 6:26 pm

Hi everyone,

Apologies if this written in the wrong part of the board, but i wanted to talk about my situation and was looking for some help.

Bit of background for me:

I'm a Turkish citizen born in Turkey moved to UK at September 2010 on a student visa. Once i've finished my student visa in January 2012, i applied for a post-study work visa which was still around back then and got a 2 year visa until 2014. From March 2014, I have been sponsored by my previous company and i moved companies last year with another Tier 2 sponsorship that's due to end on September 2019.

As far as i understand, i will be eligible for ILR on March 2019, is this correct?

Now comes the real question, I have forgotten to report my Post Study Visa to Immigration Police on 2014 and frankly while this has never came up, I neglected going to get this fixed out of fear of being deported (you never know..)

Will this have any impact on my application in 2019? What should I be doing to make sure everything is OK? Should i go speak to someone? If yes, who? How?

Yes, as a Turkish citizen i need the immigration police know every time i change my visa which in one occasion, i have neglected to do so out of fear.

Is it too late to let them know? if i do would i penalised of my ILR?

You must register with police and report the changes asap. If you are in London see: https://www.met.police.uk/advice-and-in ... s-visitor/
