Visa was refused and reapply and in need of my passport for urgent travel

Hi guys,

I am from Hong Kong, and I just would like some advice from anything! So i applied for UKVI tier 4 student in september, but i was refused due to my bankstatement. It took them around 26 days to make a decision. So i have reapplied through my school, and they said my documents have arrived on 4th of November. I couldn't check the status of my application, and it says it is not recognised. It has been almost a month, and i still havent hear anything back! I have planned to travel back to Hong Kong for my aunt's wedding on the 11th of December, (i booked my tickets before i was refused), and if i have to change my flight ticket it will cost a lot of money. Do you guys think i can get my passport back in time, or is there anything i could do? Is the homeoffice especially busy this time of the year? Last time, all my friends get their decision back round 1 month!

Given that you applied through your Tier 4 sponsor's batch application scheme, I strongly advise that you ask them for advice.

You can withdraw your application if you wish, and then you would need to reapply in your home country. Ask your Tier 4 sponsor to help with this.

I did, my school have sent a email to the homeoffice last week, asking them for the status of my application. However, they still havent reply. It's too late for me to withdraw, as my flight is next monday, and it will take them 10 days to ship my stuff back. I am wondering, are they really busy around this time of year? I just dont know what the chance for me to get it in next week:( last time all my friends took around 26 days for a decision to be made and it was in peak season (september). ((( thanks a lot

This is exactly what your Tier 4 sponsor should be able to tell you. They are doing applications all the time and will have a better sense of the current timelines than anyone here.

Home office has just replied to my UNI, and they said that my application is still processing. And they couldnt give more details to that. Does that mean that I am still on the queue of waiting a decision? I have tried to ask my advisor, but they didnt respond to me. Is there still a chance that a decision can be made within this week? Thanks a lot

Any update. I am still waiting after resubmitting after a refusal. Last date to enroll in course is january 8th
