spelling error

Post by Marbo3 » Tue Dec 19, 2017 2:26 pm

Hi everyone,
I am about to apply for BC. I have done all tests required, filled in the form and also Referees filled in theirs section of the form. Everything looks ok apart from , one small issue. One of my referee made a spelling mistake, writing my name as Martin yet its correct form is Marcin. I would like to know whether it's a big issue for HO or not. Thanks
Marcin

I have not seen any guidance or experience with spelling mistakes - they might ignore them or not.
Ideally get the offending section re-done, might as well get it right.

Hello Marcin,
Do you have ANY paperwork where name Martin is used as your name? If yes you will have to add name Martin to names uder you are known as well in first section of the application (1.8- dates from you came to UK and they were using English version of your name ) Thats just my thinking but I guess correction from scratch would be better option and will keep you calm in long run :)
Regards

Hi everyone,

I have phoned HO recently and I was advised to get my name correct. My referee had crossed my name with a line, wrote it correctly and put his initials and date. It's sorted hopefully.
Thanks
