If you travel with your spouse you just show them your UK residence card, maybe they can ask for the certificate of marriage so have it with you. You don’t need any visa.

You are allowed to travel alone to join your spouse but they can ask you a lot, on the back of your UK residence card is written “EU right to reside”? Just bring the marriage certificate with you and a photocopy of your wife’s passport.

If your wife is no longer residing in the UK and exercising her Treaty rights, you may face questions at UK Border Control when you return. That's assuming you don't intend to remain in France with your wife.

An individual can enter the Schengen Area as a whole for up to 90 days without a visa if he/she:[19]
holds a valid travel document, and
possesses a residence permit indicating either "family member of an EU citizen" or "family member of an EEA or CH citizen", and
is travelling together with or joining an EU/EEA/Swiss citizen family member.
A family member of an EU/EEA/Swiss citizen satisfying the above conditions can also enter Bulgaria,[20] Croatia, Cyprus[21] and Romania[22] and stay for up to 90 days in each country.

In theory, a family member of an EU/EEA/Swiss citizen who does not fulfil the above conditions does not have to apply for a visa in advance, and can instead obtain a visa on arrival at the border checkpoint of a Schengen country, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus or Romania by presenting evidence of the familial relationship.[19]

I repeat once again: you don’t need Schengen visa, you are wasting your time so I will not waste my time anymore giving you advices since you are not following them.

It’s a bit complicated because your wife is French. Getting a Schengen visa, as intended, is probably best.

It is not complicated. She has to fall back to schengen law and not to the directive 2004/38.

Schengen Borders Code article 6 Entry conditions for third-country nationals

section 1b:
"they are in possession of a valid visa, if required pursuant to Council Regulation (EC) No 539/2001 (25), except where they hold a valid residence permit or a valid long-stay visa;"

Article 2 section 16

‘residence permit’ means:
(a)
all residence permits issued by the Member States according to the uniform format laid down by Council Regulation (EC) No 1030/2002 (23) and residence cards issued in accordance with Directive 2004/38/EC;
