The issue date on the BRP. Whats the date on your BRP ?peacock69 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2018 6:39 pmI wish to apply for the ILR based on five years of the Tier 2 General visa. Which date do I take into account to calculate this five year period? The day my Tier 2 General leave to remain (I was transferring from Tier 1 PSW) was approved in the UK or the day the BRP was issued?
There is a date on the BRP "Place and date of issue" What written on it?
You complete 5 years on 25 April 2018. You can apply within 28 days
"Day of approval" did you apply in person? Is the date of approval different than the date of issue on your first BRP ?peacock69 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2018 12:45 pmAs pointed out above, there was a delay in my BRP issuance as the original BRP never got to me on time... Hence the need for clarification. I have booked an in person appointment based on anniversary of the day of approval. Fingers crossed... Will let you all know how I got on and if my assumption on what date to follow was correct or not.
It is very clear that only the date of approval matters. BRPs could be delayed or issued later in some cases.peacock69 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2018 12:45 pmAs pointed out above, there was a delay in my BRP issuance as the original BRP never got to me on time... Correct me if I am wrong but the date of issue on the BRP will be the same as date of approval regardless when it was issued.zimba88 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2018 2:16 pmIt is very clear that only the date of approval matters. No it is not. The BRP is usually dated a few days later or if there is a delay, a couple of weeks later than the premium appointment. The BRP is NOT produced at the premium service centre.makky86 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2018 2:26 pmCorrect me if I am wrong but the date of issue on the BRP will be the same as date of approval regardless when it was issued.zimba88 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2018 2:16 pmIt is very clear that only the date of approval matters.
