what visa category does it fall under ?

Post by Alphafive » Fri Jan 12, 2018 11:30 am

Hi all,

I am in the UK on spouse visa and my husband is a British citizen . I am planning on sponsoring my brother for a visit for few weeks. I am quiet confused what category would that fall under. Isit just normal family visa or general visitor visa ?

He is 25 and he works s IT executive. His employer should be able to give him a holiday letter. He is young and all so the immigration people might be why am I calling him first and not my parents. I would be sponsoring my parents in summer because they are older and can’t stay in this cold miserable UK weather. I have been in the country for nearly 10 years now. And it is my first sponsorship ever- I KNOW I HAVE BEEN SLACKING !!

What do you reckon the best thing to do would be ?

Me and my husband would be paying for his expense and he would be staying with us.

I would be taking him to Europe too once he comes, which I know he requires separate visa. But I want to get the UK visa fist and then Schengen visa.

I had a break in my employment for 6 weeks so I might just get my husband to provide with payslips etc unless mine are fine too.

Thank you for your time!

Janki

What evidence of strong ties to home country will he submit?

It has little to do with your documents and everything to do with his documents and circumstances.

Well what documents can he submit to get clear entry ?

He lives at home with my parents. He will be taking leave from work for the duration of the time he is here. He will be leaving behind his gf of 3 years. He gives money at home for the expenses. My dad has his own business.

Please do let me know what other docs he can provide.

Thank you for your help.

He has to prove to the ECO that he is a genuine visitor and has strong social, financial, economic etc ties to his home country.

You only have to search the forum to see the amount of refusals due to not having strong enough ties.

How long is he planning to visit?

Some of the most common recent refusals have been for single men/woman and elderly relatives, mostly due to the ECO not believing they will leave the UK due to not showing strong ties to home country. It is far more difficult to get visitor visas now due to a lot of abuse in the past.

List what he has to submit as evidence of his circumstances.

Has he ever visited the UK before??

How much money does he have to come for 4/5 weeks?

And is his employer happy to give him this much holiday time?
