Visa for dependent mother over 65 years

Post by jaya60 » Sat Apr 05, 2008 11:17 am

Hi

Can anybody guide me reg visa for dependent, widowed mother over 65 years:

a) she is widowed and having health problems
b) living with my sister in India. My sister is married and lives with her husband and children.
c) financially dependent on me by way of monthly remittance from my bank account to my mothers account in India, for the last 10 years

I am in the country under HSMP since April 2003 and last week I have got ILR (settlement) for me and my family. I have a permanent job and earn over 80k. Also, own 3 bed mortgage home.

I applied for my mother's visa in 2006 and the visa office in India rejected citing the reason that there is no provision in HSMP to bring dependants other than wife and children. My appeal in AIT also rejected citing the same reason, losing good amount of money for visa fee etc.

I seek your expert advice whether I stand a good chance now ?

Regards
jaya

You need to re-apply. Ensure that you provide all info. that she is financially dependent on you. The fact that your sister is still there would probably be a hurdle, but can be surpassed.

Does your sister and her husband earn good money? Could they possibly provide for her? What type of healthcare is your mother getting?

Would it make a difference if the sponsors were both British Citizens/Passport holders?
