Enrolling Biometrics

Post by krisbol17 » Tue Jan 16, 2018 12:17 pm

On 12 Dec 2017, I applied for settlement based on x2 DLR using FLR(DL) as I was a failed asylum until 2011. I got a letter to enroll biometrics but I have noticed that it came from the Refused Case Management in Liverpool.

Does that mean the case is refused?

Background
  • Asylum applied and refused 2004 (Went into legacy cases)
First DL granted 2011 outside immigration rules
Second DL granted 2014 (expiry 18 Dec 2017).
I applied by post on 12 Dec 2017
£2,297 taken from my account on 14 Dec 2017
Biometrics enrollment Letter dated 13 Jan (I received today)
I'm just worried as to why the enrollment letter came from the Refused Case Management. Anyone granted ILR from this department below?

UKVI
RCM - FLC2
Level 7
Liverpool
L3 9PP

Thanks

If it was refused you would not be asked to enroll biometrics.

It is likely the department that deals with failed asylum applicants who later got DLR.

Thanks, it does make sense that Biometrics are asked for issuing the BRP but I thought they always ask for Biometrics anyway whether or not they will grant or refuse?

They always ask for biometrics and your case doesn't start getting processed and assessed until biometrics are enrolled.

Oh I see, so they haven't decided yet then even though the case is at that department.

It'd be interesting to find out which department issued ILR for those who were granted ILR using the "FLR(DL) by post" route.

On a side note, I have noticed this forum is mostly for Tier applications (T1, T2 etc). Are those non-tier cases (failed asylum etc) supposed to be posted here too "Indefinite Leave to Remain"?

The ILR sub forum is for ALL applicants and members to post ILR questions, regardless of the route. There are Anecstry to ILR; Spouse visa to ILR etc questions in this forum too, as recent as this morning.
