Processing time?

Post by Ahmedtalal » Thu Jan 18, 2018 2:11 pm

Hi All,

I have applied for BC + passport on 26th October 2017. My application is based on Long Residence (10 years) + marriage to a British national. I have done biometrics on 13th November 2017. I am Non-EU. Still no news.
I have noticed some applicants from October 2017 have already got their approvals. My case seems to be straight forward and I don't have any problems with anything. I know the application is still within the 6-month window but it looks like some people are getting approved faster than others. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing delays? Also I have noticed that the online tracker service has now been stopped, does anyone know of an alternative way to check progress?

Many thanks.

There is no way to check online anymore.

Nothing you can do but wait.

You cannot 'compare' other applications at the same time as yours. Each application is processed and assessed based on its own merit and circumstances.

You are welcome.

I am locking this topic to avoid it becoming another long running moaning one about delays

Passport delivery issues after attending citizenship ceremony

Post by Ahmedtalal » Tue Mar 27, 2018 3:49 pm

Hi All,

Just a couple of queries:

(1) Can anyone advise me on how long does it usually take for British passport to be delivered after attending the Citizenship ceremony please? I have applied for the passport the same day I applied for British Citizenship.

(2) I am changing address and I have written to the passport office informing them of my new address (and included a copy of my new tenancy agreement as proof). Is there anything else I can do to ensure that my passport gets delivered to the right address? Anyone with a similar experience?

Many thanks for any thoughts on this.

Helpful if you stated when you attended your ceremony.

Passport can take a couple of weeks, sometimes up to a month after ceremony. It depends on the communication between the council to HO once you have been to ceremony.

Many thanks CR001. I have attended my BC ceremony on 25th March 2018.
The main issue I am facing is that I will be living in a different address in 10 days time. So I hope the passport office takes note of the change of address letter that I have sent them and send my passport to the correct new address.
