Marriage

Post by Aussieboy93 » Sat Jan 20, 2018 1:56 pm

Hey everyone
I’ve recently gotten married to a beautiful English girl in Australia. Our marriage is recognised both in Australia and the UK, with both of us living in Australia at the moment. Eventually we would like to move back to the uk together without spending any time apart from each other. After looking around on various sites, the spouse visa seems to be the one for us. The only requirement that’s proving troublesome to understand is the financial side. We would have to rely on cash savings as the salary option won’t work, but I’ve seen two different figures (62500 and 18600). Has anyone gone through this and can shed some light?
Thanks in advance

£62500 if going cash saving route.
£18600 annual income if going employment or self employment route.
If going savings route then money must be held in your name for 6 month unless it’s from a property sale.

If you are unable to qualify through income, you will need to have held £62,500 in an accessible account for a minimum of 6 months, unless the funds have come from the sale of property. Savings can be held jointly.

Alternatively, you would meet the financial requirement if:
1. You can show earnings in Australia of the equivalent of £18,600 p.a over the 12 month period prior to submitting the Spouse visa application
AND
2. You have a confirmed of employment in the UK to start within 3 months of arrival, again with a salary of £18.600 p.a

Otherwise, you would have to return to the UK and after being employed for 6 months, earning £18,600 p.a (pro rata) you could then submit the Spouse visa application,
(Casa, not CR001)
