Cruise within the EU

Post by dan1988uk » Tue Jan 23, 2018 1:03 am

Hello, I am an Italian citizen living and working in the UK with my non EEA wife, soon my wife’s daughter will join us (she already got her FP), before applying for her RC and before she will start school I was planning to go on holiday on a cruise ship. The route will be Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, UK and back to Germany. My wife will use her residence card so there should not be any problem, we are about to apply for my stepdaughter’s Schengen visa at the German embassy (being Germany the port of enter), which documents will we need for the visa? And which documents will we have to have with us during the cruise? Thank you.

At the schengen application form mark other at field 21 and write family member EU. At field 24 mark multiple entries. At field 25 write 90.
At field 27 the planed entry date. At field 28 add 89 or 179 days to the entry date.
Fields marked with a asterix doesn't have to be filled out.

Documents:
- your eu passport and a copy of the data page
- passport of your wife and a copy of the data page
- marriage certificate and a copy
- birth certificate and a copy
- passport of your stepdaughter
- 2 photos in passport size
- booking or a declaration in writing about that your stepdaughter will accompany you at your journey.

During the journey passport with multi entry visa will be stamped at the entry of the schengen area and stamped at the exit.

If someone tell you about residence in the uk as precondition for a schengen application at the embassy tell them community law overwrite schengen rules. The directive 2004/38 is community law and due to article 134 of the schengen convention community law has priority.

Thank you, the only problem is that she will apply from the Philippines before joining us here in Europe, so she can not provide my original passport but she has my original Italian ID with her, will it be enough?

I think ID card and a copy is enough.
For the EU a ID card from a EU country has the same effect than a passport.
