expired biometric resident card. what next?

Post by NR2018 » Tue Jan 23, 2018 11:43 am

I have some questions, please if anyone know..
I come to UK with spouse visa 2.9 years and I pass English test A2 certificate from my country and my BRC will expire on 01 May 2018, the question are
1. Do I have to do English test again even if the first time I passed English test and got A2 certificate already?
2. Prooof if relationship, can we used gas bill?
Thank you in advance for your answer.

1. No, your test you have should be fine.

2. Form FLR(M) on page 64 tells you exactly what documents HO expect to see. A 'gas bill' will not be sufficient.

Thank you for your kind CR001.

Can you please take a look my English test details again? I wanted to make sure not to do the test again because some said it expired after 2 years.
1. My English certificate from University of Cambridge ESOL entry 2 (Council of Europe Level A2) date of issue 26/07/2013
2. The earliest to apply extend visa is 28 days, my BRC is expire 01/05/2018, so be ok or not if I apply to extend visa around last week of Mar 2018

ESOL is no longer accepted by HO. They required IELTS. I don't know if your previous test will be accepted or not.

On what date did you ENTER the UK on your spouse visa?

You can apply anytime after beginning of march, once you have 2.5 years residence.

The correct form is FLR(M).

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... -04-17.pdf

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... l_2017.pdf

Cost is £993 if applying by post and £1,583 if applying in person. You will also have to pay the £500 Immigration Health Surcharge.

You will need to meet the same £18,600pa financial requirement.

Once again, if I applying in person, do I have to print out the form which is 79 pages and fill in the form OR I just go to the service centre and fill the form their?

You have to have it completed and take it with you. They do not do it for you and it is not an interview.

Dear CR001, I have few questions here,
1. What is the best way to apply extend visa? I’m thinking about applying in person but too expensive for me, plus if I don’t meet requirements, mean no refund? Can I still apply again?
2. I’ve NINo but unemployed, if I have changed address, do I have to inform anyone?
3. What I have to do if I don’t have council tax bill?
Thank you in advance for your kind answer.

1. You can either apply in person or by post. Your choice. If refused, you lose your fee. You can apply again at any time as long as you still have a valid visa.

2. Not sure why relevant. Does your spouse work? Do you meet the financial requirements? You also need English A2.

3. Does it state it is mandatory to have a council tax bill??

- Yes, my husband work and we meet the financial requirements. I have booked English test again as you mentioned that my A2 ESOL not accepted by HO and I will do the test this Saturday.
- From GOV.uk website about partner’s details, proof of relationship you’ll asked about
1.your relationships with your partner,
2.how long you’ve lived together - you’ll need to send proof like council tax bills ***for this point I am confused because I don’t have one but my husband only. What I have to do? I don’t know anyone or have no friend to tell me what I have to do once I moved to the UK.

It is an example. Page 64 of the FLR(M) lists examples of documents HO expect to see.

For make sure if I understand correctly, the council tax bill is in my husband name only but I have bank statements, gas bill, driving license and tenancy contract in both name, should be ok for the documents to apply a visa, right?

6 items of correspondence for 2 years evidence of cohabitation in either joint names with your spouse or 12 items in individual names.

Bank statements and payslips is the most recent ones for 6 months for the financial requirement. Older ones can be used for cohabitation proof.

Dear CR001, I just saw from UK Visas & Immigration rule about English test said,
- Will you accept English language tests that are not on the SELT list?
Answer : No, Any test taken from 06 April 2015 must be on the approved SELT list.

- My question is I took the test before 06 April 2015 and my A2 certificate issued 26 July 2013. Do I still have to take English test?

Or Do you have HO number that I can ask them about this? I couldn’t find any number. Please help

6 items in joint names with your spouse or if you don't have enough, 12 items in each of your names. All must be spread evenly over the last two years.
