Hello guys. For those who have applied through SET(P), how long before the 5 year refugee leave expires you have to apply for ILR? Is that within the last 30 or 60 days of the expiry of the 5-year leave, or before that?

Many thanks and good luck to everyone waiting for answers!

It is not 30 days. It is 28 days before reaching 5 years.

Hello guys

I have read the thread and slightly panicked, seeking your help.

My Refugee remain is due to expire on 28 Jan 2018, I sent the ILR application on 6th Jan which the HO received on 8th Jan. Today I have received their letter for biometric.

Question: is it compulsory to apply 28 days before the visa expiry or should it be fine in my case as I applied for ILR in last 28 days.

Please reply.

Thanks.

You should be absolutely fine as your are supposed to apply for ILR in last 30 days before your refugee leave to remain expires and not before that ..... so even if someone applies 1 day before the current leave to remain expires it should be fine. However people usually apply as soon as they are in their last 30 days.

My leave to remain was due to expire on 27th sep I have applied on 29th Aug Still waiting hopefully i hear good news in next four weeks.

In your case I think u should get back from HO by the end of June 2018.

What I understood from the answers: apply anytime between 1 month (30 days) and 1 day before the 5 year refugee leave expires. On that basis you should be fine.

I applied on the 14th of August and still no positive news yet. Although I have dependants on my application so this may be the reason for delay but I am getting worried. Anyone else got news from August applicants??? Please kindly update.
Thanks

Hello just found out about this forum. I submitted my application on the 7th of November after completing 5 years along with my dependant who is my child. The only thing keeping me worried is that I had renewed my country of origins passport after a stupid case worker told me that it’s ok and as long as I don’t travel to my country of origin it’s fine. So I got it renewed and travelled to Dubai couple of times for a few days and as soon as I found out that I was not supposed to travel on my country of origins passport, I surrendered that to Home office and applied for a travel document, which I was given. Now it has been 2 and a half months since I submitted my application for ILR along with my son but I have been very anxious as to what would be the outcome of my application. I have been working, driving paying all my taxes and a law abiding citizen but still don’t know what my future would be. Plz help if anyone have anything relevant to share.
