naturalisation form and employment

Post by gentlegold » Wed Jan 24, 2018 8:37 pm

Hello ,

Naturalisation form (AN) mentions about details of employment
It talks about name of employer and address details

What happens in a scenario when one fills the form as an employee giving all the employer details.
However one month after the naturalisation form submission employee loses job or resigns and is out of job.
What will happen in such a situation ?
Will the applicant need to inform Home Office about no employment situation ?
Will no job have a negative impact on the application in spite of good character and no criminal history or overstay ?

Employment scenarios are volatile and keep changing many a times. Additionally it takes min 6 months to find a new job hence

Please advise here ..

Thank you in advance

It is true that the naturalisation application requires disclosure of employment history and some employer information (name, address). Being employed is not a requirement for naturalization. Legal residence is. Assuming all categories applying for naturalisation require holding permanent residence, settlement or ILR which means that the applicant's lawful residence is not subject to employment or other criteria anymore, losing your employment after applying for citizenship through naturalisation has no impact on your application.

Good luck!

British citizenship after ilr

Post by gentlegold » Mon Mar 12, 2018 8:59 pm

Hello ,

If applying for british citizenship after 12 months on ilr.
Is job a requirement ?
Can one apply without job and without being business partner ,self employed , a director

Application for naturalisation as a British citizen has a section on details of your employment.

What details can be included in this section ( 1.45 to 1.49) if one is not an employee or a business partner or self employed or a director ?
But is looking for a job and employment history during past 10 years is available . Just that currently no job.

All other details English language , good character, residence requirements etc. available.

Please advise.

Thanks

You declare "unemployed" currently and list any previous jobs for the period you are covering. As advised frequently here employment is not a requirement for AN application. Ensure you review the AN form and all guidance: https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... en-form-an
