Dependent Visa after ILR

Post by mohit311 » Sat Feb 03, 2018 9:59 am

I am currently on Tier 2 General Visa which is valid till 2019 and I will apply for my ILR in next 2 months.

Now my daughter is dependent on me and her visa is currently valid till same as me i.e 2019. If I go for ILR, do i need to do anything for my daughter visa or will it be automatically renewed for unlimited time. I know i can apply for British Passport once i get ILR but what will happen to her current visa till the time i havent applied British Passport. Can anyone please let me know.

Thanks

Regards
Sunil

Where was she born?
What’s the status of her other parent?
Under what category will you be applying for ILR?

She was born in UK only.. Her mother will also apply for ILR in 2-3 months. I will be applying for ILR after 5 years on Tier 2 migrant..

Leave to enter/remain is not automatically renewed without a sucessful application.

If she was born in the UK, then she is entitled to register for British citizen after a parent is granted ILR.

However, if she doesn't register, then she should apply for ILR with her parents or shorty before her leave expires.

Thanks Vinny.. so if i understood it correctly if we as parents apply our ILR within next 2-3 months, my daughter will be eligible to apply for british passport straighway then however as her current dependent visa on my Tier 2 General visa is still valid till 2019 then we have time to apply register her as british citizen by then. I dont need to put her application right now with my ILR..?
