Hi ,
Iam applying for my son ROA from UK .
He is born 2 months back in UK
One of the parent is British & Mother -I.L.R.Before he was born
My query is on the ROA Form Basis is

Applicant was born in the UK or the
Falkland Islands on or after 1 January
1983, or in another qualifying British
overseas territory on or after 21 May 2002

In Documents : Can I send Naturalisation Certificate for British Father instead of Passport

As List says: Applicant’s full birth certificate
showing parents’ details;
• Evidence of either parent’s British
citizenship or settled status at time of
applicant’s birth, e.g. a passport describing
the relevant parent as a British citizen or
indicating that they then had indefinite
leave to remain; and
• Parents’ marriage certificate (if
claiming through father and applicant
born before 1 July 2006)

It takes couple of months to get ROA i need to travel abroad so is it mandatory to send Passport or not

Thanks for your reply.
You mean we have to send Passport either of the parent.
Only Naturalisation certificate of the Father is not sufficient to claim ROA .

A naturalisation certificate is evidence of an event. It doesn’t prove identity. They may require the British passport to prove identity as well.

If it’s inconvenient for the child’s father to send his British passport, then sending proof of child’s mother’s ILR at the time of child’s birth instead should suffice, as child was born in the UK. Moreover, if claiming through mother, then the marriage certificate isn’t required.

Applicant was born in the United Kingdom or the Falkland Islands on or after 1st January 1983, or in another qualifying British overseas territory on or after 21st May 2002

(i)Applicant’s full birth certificate showing parents’ details;
(ii)Evidence of either parent’s British citizenship or settled status at time of applicant’s birth, eg a passport describing the relevant parent as a British citizen or indicating that he or she then had indefinite leave to remain; and
(iii)Parents’ marriage certificate (if claiming through father)
