Tier 2 change of employer

Post by Ivanedwin » Mon Feb 19, 2018 5:12 pm

Hi,

I am working in UK on tier 2 general visa. Recently I got a COS from a new employer. I would like to know the procedure,
1) How to apply for the visa ?
Please send me any links to apply online.
2) Do I need to visit Home office ?
3) How will I apply for BRP ?

Regards,
Ivan

I would like to know the procedure,
Google is amazing!!!
1) How to apply for the visa ?
https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/extend-your-visa
2) Do I need to visit Home office ?
No. You only got to the premium service centre if you apply in person for same day decision.
3) How will I apply for BRP ?
Your BRP is your visa. Part of the application process and delivered by DX courier IF your visa is approved.

Thanks CR001,

Do you think my old employer need to inform home office about this change ?
Can I wait till I get BRP and then resign the job ?
is there any problem if I do this because of overlapping visas ?

Changing employer has nothing to do with your old sponsor.
Can I wait till I get BRP and then resign the job ?
Yes.
is there any problem if I do this because of overlapping visas ?
No.

There is a form called ""Request for inclusion form" for getting the appointment for priority services. in that form there is mark for Tier 2 dependent partner (Applying to join main applicant)
Do you mean, if my PBS dependent already in UK, Do I still need to mark this and apply for her visa ? (It just confuses me)

Thanks CR001,

I am in the process of applying the visa.
My job SOC is 2121 - civil engineers
My job title is "Façade Structural Engineer"
is there any additional cost if I opt priority services ?

there are two fee structures,
https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general
https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-priority-applications

which one correct ?
how long does it take if I go with non priority application within UK ?

Second link appears the correct one.

If you go for non priority, it can take a couple of months.
