Standard Visitor Visa (for parents)

Post by saleemkhan1 » Wed Mar 07, 2018 8:01 pm

Dear Expert,

I want to invite my parents to UK. I have mentioned in the sponsor letter that they are coming for 8 weeks. i could mention four-six weeks but due my illness, they would care of me for that time as I have got an accident and unwell while i am in final stages of completing my degree. Mentioning 8 weeks is ok or should I reduce to 4-6 weeks? I got a letter from my GP as well and has his support for my parents visa. Would the 8 weeks be a cause of their refusal. Everything has been organised from finance to accomodation.

Thanks

Regards,

8 weeks should be OK, but crucially your parents will have to submit strong evidence of ties to their home country in order to convince the ECO that they won't overstay in the UK.

This should be social and economic evidence, including proof that they are financially self-sufficient.

Thank you so much! Yes, everything has been organised including family ties and finances plus properties. People are suggesting that mention as minimum stay as you can but genuinely I need them for minimum 8 weeks for care and support.

8 weeks should be accepted as a reasonable stay.

Which people?

People who suggest that your parents lie or use deception in their application, and that you collude by providing a fraudulent support letter, should be ignored! They could also be reported for giving unauthorised immigration advice and advocating immigration fraud.
I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.

Thank you so much for your precious advices. People mean those who applied for their parents. Yes I ignored them. Many were discouraging me they wouldnt get visas. It is tough etc. I said they will get and I need for genuine cause.

Hi

Just a short question! Actually my parents are coming for care and support, can they mention in their application apart from the care and support, "we would also love to visit the historical and tourist places in Scotland"?!
Thanks
