Oh God, since August, That's over six months, I thought I am few of unlucky ppl who have to wait for longer but feeling for u now... I wish they had premium services for this process too... This long waiting game is torture... Anyway sending duaas ur way, In sha ALLAH you will get the approval soon...silverchloride wrote: ↑Tue Mar 06, 2018 4:00 pmHi guys, I applied in August 2017 and still waiting. Dont have a clue what has taken them so long and why the delay. The only thing I can think of is that I have a lot of days out of the uk (short business trips) over the 5 year period but under the limits (both for 5 years, and 12 months). Maybe they are just verifying those?
I phoned them on the 0300 123 2241 number yesterday. They took my details and said that they'd forward it to the relevant team. Today I got a phone call back, and literally the lady just read out info from the website after confirming all my personal details 'All applications are aimed to be decided within 6 months, and some take longer' you do not need to contact ukvi etc etc.
I also emailed the FMT team several times over the last few weeks and have had no word back... Not sure what else to do now!
Any advise / suggestions? I mean it would be great to calm down, not think about it nor do anything but the anxiety and stress is so hard to cope with...
I feel your pain. I am in exactly the same position and also applied in August. They responded to my email dated from 27/02/18 by post today. They are saying that the good character checks are still on-going. Have you contacted your MP?ZFDar wrote: ↑Tue Mar 06, 2018 4:43 pmOh God, since August, That's over six months, I thought I am few of unlucky ppl who have to wait for longer but feeling for u now... I very much doubt that randomness has anything to do with this! This is a citizenship application and many things come into play! Nationality of the applicant and that of their spouse (if any), all sort of history in the UK and sometimes even history in other countries, places the individual has been to before, etc.. Unfortunately, all we can do now is to patiently wait and hope for the best and answer any query they may throw at us...silverchloride wrote: ↑Wed Mar 07, 2018 10:35 pmHi all,
So I recieved a letter in post in response to my email as follows:
Careful consideration has to be given to each application for naturalisation in order to ensure that the statutory requirements are met. The processing of a naturalisation application is not subject to time limits. The Home Office strives to decide applications as quickly as they can.
The progress of these cases is regularly monitored with the agencies carrying out these enquiries on behalf of the home Office. It is only when the enquiries have been completed that a decision on whether citizenship should be granted can be reached.
As soon as our enquiries are completed, the Home Office will make a decision on the application and contact you immidiately.
Has anyone recieved anything similar? Wonder if they take a random sample to conduct extensive checks through external agencies which takes a while? I seriously cannot think of why my case has taken so long, except a significant number of days spent overseas on short business trips (letter from employer enclosed in paperwork) and the days were less than the limit.

Further to completion of 6 months and based on the confirmation above that decision would be made by 7th March 2018, I called HO to check on progress yesterday. They took my wife's and my details and informed that would be getting a call within next 5 days.dontringthebell wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2018 8:32 pmRefer to my post on "Naturalisation application processing timelines (only)" on Page 477 dated 19/02/2018
I received two letters both dated 14/02/2018 as follows:
Letter 1
"Dear Mr XX
Re: Mr XX & Mrs YX
We aim to process all applications within 6 months from the date submitted. However, in certain circumstances, this target is not possible. Following our assessment of your case, unfortunately, it appears your application will not be processed within the 6-month target.
This is because there has been an issue with the biometric enrolment of Mrs YX.
We expect to make a decision on your application by 7th March 2018 once your biometric enrolment issue has been resolved.
Yours sincerely

Congratulations.
I knew u will get approval since u were asked further docs and the questionnaire.
Most pple I know with such questionnaire got approval once they provide all they asked for.
Welcome to a new world of being British now .
You don't av to send your pr card back, I didn't send mine. It applies to those under UK law with BRP CARD, not us with EU PR card.

Was this in an email or letter? Did they not say they had sent you something on the 5th of March? Which would most likely be your decision?
Hi good people, please i am very stressed, i am in the same situation. i received questionnaires and evidence. but with my case i could not send much documents and most documents i sent were copies. because i sent all my original document to home office in 2009. I was a victim of domestic violence back in 2009 and got an original letter from women's aid to confirm this. do you think i have chance to get granted citizenship? Thank youBathroom11 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 10:56 amFirst of all thank you so much you are the man you were right I received my approval letter yesterday 7 days exactly and they said I should receive my ceremony invitation shortly and I contact them if I didn't receive it in 3 weeks I just have question do I need now to return permenant Eu family member card to the home office or doesn't apply on my situation.?smallpie wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 6:57 amBathroom11 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 05, 2018 6:55 pmHello Guys just need a quick advice I have applied for neutralization on 30th october 2017 I got a letter from the home office on 22 /02 obviously 2nd class dated 18/02 to respond to some questions with evidence documents about the 10 months gap between my student visa and spouse resident card eu family although my documents all were with them all theses 10 months so they asked if I worked and how i maintained my self all these 10 months anyway and apparently if i didn't respond by 4th of march they will refuse my application ( they really gave me enough time 4th and 5th Saturday and Sunday) anyway I manage to respond to them last Tuesday which was 27th of march I never worked in these 10 months gap my wife was full time employed so luckily I sent them 8 months payslips of those 10 months also her mum was sending us cash luckily we sent them about 3 randum receipts of her mum sending us cash a decent cash throw something like western union transfer from Moscow with the date during just before the gap 10 months by one month enough to live for at least 2 months and the most important thing I had my own saving account back home which I was using as well during these 10 months gap and before and even after and my bank kindly supplied me with my bank statements during these 10 months and even before and after and how much balance I had and the transaction luckily showed in these 10 months gap I was withdrawing money from my savings almost 250 pound's almost every couple of days I highlighted it for them even I sent them my actual visa card which i was using at this time do you think enough evidence?
