Dependant visa for my mother based on special need child

Post by dc123 » Tue Apr 15, 2008 11:11 pm

Hi,
My brother & I are both married and settled in Uk holding British passports. My brother's eldest son been identified with special needs and he needs constant attention and its difficult to handle him. My sister-in-law finds it difficult to concentrate on the younger one aged 5 as the elder one needs all the attention
For the time being my widowed mother aged 62 is helping them out . She is on visit visa . We tried intially to get her on dependant visa while I was on workpermit but that application was refused as she was under aged .

Do we stand any chance if we apply for settlement visa for my mother to support us as
a) we have all got the British Citizenship and can support her without public recourse
b)My brother's son school is willing to give any supporting document for this cause
c) My mother also has no immediate family to turn to in our native place.

Our only hurdle is her under age .. can anyone help us how to go about in this case or any recommendation for solicitors would be useful. Thanks in advance

Is your mother financially dependent on you or your brother? Does she have any assets of her own?
