Replacement BRP Visa

Post by fimirza » Mon Mar 19, 2018 6:26 am

Hi,
I am a Pakistani national working on Tier 2 - General Visa in the UK. I was visiting Paris and my wallet was stolen which contained my BRP. I applied for Replacement BRP Visa in Paris but after waiting for almost 10 days, I withdrew my application as I couldn’t stay here anymore. I am now going to Pakistan and will apply for the visa from there.
What are the documents required to apply for Replacement BRP Visa as I don’t want to take any chance now. Also, can a Replacement BRP Visa application be rejected?
Anyone know the processing time of a Replacement BRP Visa from Karachi?

Thanks a lot Vinny.
UK Border Force allowed me in to the UK at Eurostar station after verifying Police Report, a letter from my Employer and copy of my BRP.

BRP (RC) Application Form

Post by fimirza » Wed Mar 21, 2018 4:25 pm

Hi,
I lost my BRP outside UK. I have now reached UK and have to apply for a replacement BRP. I have downloaded BRP RC form but have some questions to correctly fill the form.

I am working in the UK on a Tier 2 General Visa. My original BRP was valid for 5 years set to expire in 2021. In A1 of Section 1, my category should be "Temporary Migration (Limited Leave to Remain)"?

I have changed my UK address after getting my original BRP. Do I need to send my passport with the application form?

My BRP was stolen in France. Do I need to provide the police report? If yes, the report is in French. Should I provide the French report or get it translated in English?

BRP - RC not processing

Post by fimirza » Thu May 31, 2018 11:12 am

Hi,
I have a Tier 2 visa till 2021. While visiting France, my BRP was stolen. I came back to UK and applied for a replacement BRP on 28th March. The application reached Home Office on 29th March. On 21st April, I received a letter to register my bio-metric data which I did on the same day. It has been 9 weeks now and I still haven't received anything.
I called Home Office, provided my details and inquired about the status. Next day, I received a one liner email that my application is still in process and they can't provide any more update.
It has been 9 weeks now. Is there anything which can be done? I really need to travel because of my job.

It can take a few months. When I did my daughters one a few years ago, we waited 5 months.

But for Finite leave to remain, the standard processing time is 8 weeks. Isn't it?

That is for a visa application not BRP RC. Note sure what you mean by 'finite leave to remain'.

No. It is not for visa. It is for a replacement BRP. By Finite leave to remain, I mean it is not ILR. The BRP will expire in 2021

It is not called 'finite leave to remain' for clarity, it is called 'temporary leave to remain'.

8 weeks processing applies to visas not a replacement BRP card.

The 8 weeks processing time is for BRP RC.
I sent an email to Home Office and their reply confirms that standard processing time for BRP RC is 8 weeks.

"Thank you for your enquiry dated 15th May regarding your replacement BRP card.

The service standard time for a BRP card depends on the type of card you have applied for. If it was for a time limited visa, the time frame is 8 weeks, where as a settlement application is 6 months.

If an application goes over the service standard time, you can call 0300 123 2241 and select option 3 for visa progress. The adviser will take your details and arrange for someone to looking into your case and let you know if it is still in progress or if it has been completed."

Hi Fimirza,
Did you get your BRP?

I'm in the same boat as yours. My family and I are in temporary leave to remain. I've applied a replacement brp for a lost card for my son.
Applied - 5th jun 2018
Application reached - 6th jun
Payment taken - 8th jun ( so far good)
Biometric letter - 26th Jun ( This is not good, as I read many people giving biometrics 4th day or so from payment deduction)

I'm worried if my process will go beyond 8 weeks. Is there a way to mail a relevant party? I don't want to call some call centre or office person who'll say - It's in process.
