Got my rejection yesterday

53k - non shortage
April will be my 3rd attempt

fingers crossed
Was your salary raised from your first few attempts?
No, doubt they will raise it so didnt bother requesting it
I ask because with a 53k salary you should have been approved in January and February.

Are you sure they’ve done your RLMT right?
I have no idea.

HR barely communicate with me .
They cant even tell me my points

Ansari, please ask your HR if she is actually putting in 56k on the CoS application. Otherwise it will just confuse others over here. Many HRs only put it in the basic salary as a rule. Please do not take it the wrong way. Thanks.

Hey guys, has anyone with a salary of 51k and above got a refusal? I know 50-55 is grouped and many with 50k have got refusala but my friend spoke to another non shortage occupation doctor who said the salary on his CoS was 51k. So I am just wondering if they split 50-55 or this was just luck. So if anyone with a salary of 51k and abovr got refused please let me know.

I am visiting this Blog on daily basis. This moth was 1st attempt. refused at 32 points with non shortage which was very much expected. I tried to figure where is the actual challenge. So got some facts gathered.

Any means any Nurse related jobs are part of SoL. And if I check on NHS job portal for Nurse vacancies it is 7245 open job vacancies. Now I tried to connect with my friend who is a surgeon of cardio. He mentioned that it's really worst situation in hospitals because of not having adequate nurse staff which are delaying surgeries. On top of that EU resident nurses are moving back to their countries as there is not much difference in £ & euro gaining no much monetary benefits also with a fear that after Brexit they might not get relevant options in their home country. This is the version I got from my friend who has literally asked some of the nurse staff on leaving back.

Now with situation of 7245 open positions with all of them in SoL. Do we really expect the situation to improve. Does anyone know when did nurse all jobs been added to SoL. If nurse position has been moved just in December'18 then it is very much clear and we all have a reason in hand.

I am sure Govt. must be also doing some brainstorming if this issue can be tackled. Not sure if respective MP's are raising this in parliament to govt.

They got to do something it's really unfair on youngsters who are still young in to their careers. Points based system only allows people with higher salary to get their COS. We can't have our salary 50k to get it to UK as the qualifications itself us 30k pounds (If not under 26) it means you are rejecting all the qualified ones. I really hope they do something in coming days. We are not far away form April. This time they delayed the outcome and they haven't announced the cut off yet hope that is something to with the the changes in policy.

Anyone with salary 55-59 got any replies? I'm 58 and worried because I have to get the visa by 14th of April and I'm still waiting for the response to apply for the visa.

Tier 2 visa cap is hit for the fourth month in a row

The threshold for Restricted Certificates of Sponsorship (RCoS), widely referred to as the Tier 2 visa cap, has been reached for the fourth month in a row.

The Home Office has started to send out rejection emails today and this means that, yet again, the number of applications received for certificates has exceeded the number available to grant. Many businesses that have received a negative decision are on their fourth attempt.

As usual when the threshold is met, PhD level roles, those on the Shortage Occupation List and graduate roles recruited via a milkround have all been prioritised. The issues arise with roles that require a Resident Labour Market Test to be performed and that score the middle to lower end of the points for salaries.

We will not know what the exact salary threshold was for this month until the Home Office publishes its information in the next week or so. Last month, jobs needed to have a salary of at least £55,000 to receive a certificate unless one of the exemptions applied.

Businesses can reapply and applications submitted before 5 April will be considered in the April cycle. The good news is that there will be at least 2,200 certificates available to be assigned from the yearly quota of 20,700. The formal quota for March was only 1,000 so it is of little surprise that the threshold has been reached. Sponsors relying on a Resident Labour Market Test should ensure that it will remain valid.

We are expecting changes to be made to ease the pressure. For example, the way the points are dealt with in the sponsor guidance could be changed fairly easily to narrow the salary bands. At the moment, when the limit is reached all applications that fall within the relevant salary band are rejected (unless the numbers over are very small). The government could also look at removing certain types of roles from the limit.
